Pachymetry
Pachymetry is the use of a specialised ultrasound machine to measure corneal thickness (the cornea is the transparent window of the front of the eye).
Studies suggest that patients with thicker than average corneas fare better than patients with thinner corneas for a given intraocular pressure.
This rapid and important diagnostic technique is important for all glaucoma patients and glaucoma suspects.
This is routinely performed at Highfield House.
